Acts of Recognition

Acts of Recognition considers the unstable space between seeing, identifying and understanding another person. Recognition can carry familiarity, judgement, projection or misreading, and the works remain close to the moment in which one becomes aware of another presence without necessarily knowing what that recognition means. The body of work is concerned with how quickly perception becomes interpretation, and how uncertain that interpretation can be.
