Condemned at First Sight reflects on immediate judgment and the quiet anxiety it produces. A figure with an unsympathetic appearance stands beside a common houseplant, an object easily accepted despite its ordinariness. While the plant is allowed to exist without scrutiny, the human figure carries the weight of being constantly seen, assessed, and judged. The work questions why imperfection is readily accepted in nature, yet so often denied to one another.
