Oddly Recognizable :: 2023

Oddly Recognizable began as an experiment with an unfamiliar face, one the artist did not find sympathetic at first. Over time, as he continued to work with the image, the figure became strangely comforting, almost like someone known for a long time.
The work reflects how repeated exposure can shift perception. What initially feels distant or unsettling can gradually become familiar and even reassuring. It points to the quiet way connection can form, not through immediate attraction, but through time, attention, and continued presence.
